Bottling Beer

Bottled our homebrew beer on Wednesday night. A pale ale with a touch of brown sugar. So excited.

Raw stones

photos from metastones
New-agey stuff aside, I think raw crystals and stones are beautiful. My grandfather's house is filled with raw tourmaline and quartz he's found on his property. I've started collecting my own stones from hikes, although it's usually just your run of the mill piece of cloudy quartz. I'd love to find something like these one day.

Dark & Stormy

After a little bit of rain, it's back to being beautiful in San Francisco again. Nevertheless, every night I want to make a Dark & Stormy or two. In a highball glass, I mix equal portions rum (the favorite, so far, being Sailor Jerry's for the hint of vanilla) and ginger beer (the nicest stuff they've got at your local store--no ginger ale, please). One or two stirs and a lime makes it perfect.

CameraBag

Photos of my fireplace, settings "1962," "Holga," and "Lolo" respectively.

CameraBag is a beautiful application that lets you mimic the unique characteristics of certain cameras and lens on your iPhone. You can take photos on a certain setting (ie. "Fisheye") or you can take existing photos from your library and tweak them. The best part is that the application works with the weakness of the iPhone's camera, since graininess and weird color saturation are part of an old photo's charm.

Andrew Wyeth died last week, and as much as I love Christina's World, I can't resist a horse in a field.

Spoonflower

photos from spoonflower.com

Spoonflower allows you to print custom fabrics, at a very reasonable $18/yard. Totally brilliant and I'm desperate to start making my own.
